Bird-Voiced Treefrog
It's been a while, but I'm back for a few pictures. I have been trying my hand at photographing small reptiles and amphibians that I think are cool. This particular species of frog are neat in that they can be this color, but can also turn a bright lime-green too. They also make an interesting call as the name suggests.Wednesday, May 23, 2007
Toad
I got my camera back finally on Monday, but have been too busy to really go out an use it until today. So out I headed today to find something to take a picture of, but there was pretty much nothing. No flowers, no interesting sunsets or scenery. The best I could come up with was this picture of a toad that I almost stepped on while I was looking for something to take a picture of. Anyway, I did like the detail my camera was able to get, and the pixel that had been burned out didn't show up either, so I'm happy.Friday, March 03, 2006
Dusky Salamander

This picture somewhat goes along with the last one. This salamander was sitting on the rocks next to that waterfall. In many ways this was a more thrilling sight for me than the waterfall was. I never get to see salamanders out in the wild and getting to see this one, one that I had never seen before was cool. I guess it just goes to show what a biology geek I am. Anyway, I looked it up when I got back home and I think it is a "Dusky Salamander". It is apparently one of the more common salamanders in Great Smoky Mountain National Park, but not a common sight for me.
